An Existential Curiosity
I search for the meaning and purpose of my life,
What would be the reward-finale for my strife?
What, exactly, is my joy? Should I be happy?
Which are sometimes funny and other times snappy...?
What is my right in this world? What is my duty?
What, indeed, in this universe, is true beauty?
Is my consciousness of good and evil upright?
Are the ethics taught to me, by one and all, bright?
Midst fluent flows of existence like a clear stream,
Death enters like a nightmare in a pleasant dream;
Puts a full stop to all hopes and aspirations,
Demolishing all painfully preserved foundations...!
Is there a God? Where is he or she? What is death?
What is an afterlife? Where do I go with no breath?
All these, like mix-meat in an urn, go within me,
Answers are plenty; The truth still I wait to see...!
