An Empty Tomb

An empty tomb, a folded sheet That signifies all is complete. The captives free, the battle won, Naught yet remains; the work is done. True, on its face, it seems absurd: His righteousness, to me, conferred. Devoid of merit, needing grace, A marvelous exchange took place. He bore my sin, took it away And so I stand because today Propitiation for God’s wrath Was gained by Christ on my behalf. Yes, he is worthy to be praised, This Jesus Christ, the one God raised.
