Love's an emotional minefield
where hope hijacks fragile feelings.
And trust cautions hearts not to yield
but bend, like a reed in the wind.
When innocence leads hearts astray,
love's an emotional minefield.
And it's easy to lose your way
if you've never been there before.
Reality is oft concealed,
as dreams drift into fantasy.
Love's an emotional minefield,
pitted with bouts of depression.
Youth painted pictures in your mind
of true love’s everlasting joy.
But as you venture forth, you'll find
love's an emotional minefield.
