An Emotional Bridge
Perpetual sadness
if such a thing exists,
is devastating to
a fragile heart and soul.
Love's an oxymoron
of clashing emotions,
sad tears and happy tears
fight for recognition.
You crave intimacy
and welcome its caress,
feeling friendly fingers
linger upon your skin.
But depression deepens
as passion's flame dies,
and once devoid of love
sex seems so meaningless.
Lust's an emotion used
to lure a fledgling heart;
any semblance of love
is coincidental.
Far beyond physical
love's a bonding of souls;
an emotional bridge,
connecting lonely hearts.
