An effect without a cause
A bolting into being
Is anathema to reason
A delirium or dream
Proximate – and ultimate
Phenomena exclaim
There is one rule inviolate -
Determinism reigns
The implication staggers -
Our will constrained, unfree
Yet if this be so
How can reason be?
