An Eagle Tale
an eagle tale
eagle flew too high
too high the others cried
dare he sit in the hand of god
at dusk moon and sun
sun and moon face each other
lark translates
eagle rested on the highest peak
voices fell away as ice rain
moon and sun parted
stars bleat their cold message
winding about sleeping wings
like blossoms of light
dawn melts the magic
the night gown shed
eagle flies on
assure the invisible
no harm was felt
moments of grace
most precious
