An Artist

She sits alone in her room
images dancing in her head ready to be transported onto the paper in front of her
coloured pencils at the ready
and the music
fitting the creative mood serves to energize her longing to draw

she doesn't need people right now
as she savors the silence that is held without and within
she sees finely toned images that
cascade from her pencil
and splash before her on the pages that start to tell of a story

An illustrated story of rathar wan small bird wanting to be an eagle
a story of inspiration of of coaching from another
to live up to her dream
her enlivened potential
that was seen in the eyes and felt in the heart of a sublime mentor

so she learned to chase rainbows
to dance on the wind and colour her world with tints and hues of joy
and as she kept on drawing
she came more and more into herself
and a fine song was finally heard.
