An Apple Tree

Another apple from the tree...
One brighter then another you see...
Pick the one that's not the best...
Some will fall on the ground and rest...
The shiniest one may not be for real...
There could be a bruise that you can't feel...
Maybe a worm inside waiting to surprise...
Or a rotten core that is not clear to the eye...
Wait for the one that your heart knows is right...
Hold it close and savor it till its ripe...
If you think this is just about apples, then start again...
The sweetest apple could be right next to you and your friend...
