The rispetto lyric is generally composed of eight hendecasyllabic (11-syllable) lines. The rhyme scheme was usually abababcc , but ababccdd is now more prominent.

An Angel sent by God best describes my mum; a more loving soul has never walked this Earth. Mum would bottle preserves: apple, peach, or plum; cultivate my pride, and shore up my self-worth. And she could knit, crochet, macramé, and sew, learning each without help; she took life in tow. I felt comfortable and safe around her; now, when I think of her, my tears start to stir.

I always wish everyone would feel the angelic side of a mother, I do feel sad when some do not.. your poem described angelic features of a mum, so beautifully.. It is Mother's Day here in the UK, so I thought it would be nice to feature mum related poems.. Congratulations on your placement in the contest..

This is so sweet and soulful dear Emile. I really admire your love and appreciation for your mum. Especially love how youv described her with lines such as “cultivate my pride, and shore up my self-worth.
