An Angel Appears
Ever since I was a child tormented thoughts like twisters ran so wild
The wind outside my window whispered lunacy and lies
The lightning slashed like strobe lights
Burning bulbs inside my brain
Thunder roared just like a teacher...calling out my name
My cradle turned into a casket
I was drowning in dark fears
I looked and saw a light above
That's when an angel appears
Life to live as a loner...I grew up all alone
My heart was hooked by hellions...twisting the truth and taking time
wasting away in teenage wastelands tranquilty was leaving like a train
I gave many gifts to many sorry and stingy souls
Clocked out cold...running in the rain
Soon the ice of isolation was freezing what was flowing
Flowers they all died from frost...nothing new was growing
Coughing and choking from the trails of toxic tears
I looked and saw a light above
That's when an angel appears
Hurts they turn into hatred...some things still sacred
Burning and baking
Stirred up and shaking
Betrayed and bitter
Nightmares like nuclear winter
Wandering aimless too many roads of ruination
I see a signpost near the end of the line
Like water turned into wine...eyes and ears now open wide
I look and see a light above and all around
Surrounded by serenity
Everything is crystal and clear
That's when an angel appears
