Amtrak

Amtrak was his ride of choice
For oh, so many years
But Biden can’t ride Amtrak now
Because of growing fears.

I read he’d planned to take the train
Before his swearing-in.
That plan was scratched, though, just in case
Disruptions might begin. 

For who knows what the whackos plan
To fire up their cause?
Apparently they’re not deterred
By conscience, fear or laws.

So somehow Biden will arrive
In total secrecy
While, fingers crossed, we watch
The ceremony in D.C.

I am loving the fact that he liked train rides, he is so down-to-earth, full of integrity, and an honest man. So glad he is where he is. I am not even political, and yet I want to eliminate FAUX news too. They caused a lot of problems.

Somebody told me Biden only won because he cheated in the Electoral College voting. How is that possible? Good poem as usual, Ilene.

We can't allow our fears to overwhelm the hope that this ceremony holds. Please consider writing a companion piece to this one. A piece inspired by the good that will come having gone through the darkness of the past four years. Otherwise, it's a well written work, my friend and fellow poet.
