Amphetamine of Choice
I hold my breath as lights go down
adrenaline overflowing
red curtains part
a shot in the dark stills my pumping heart
Transported to another world
of fantasy and make believe
music permeates my soul
mind and body feeling whole
Before too long the end is nigh
euphoric I'm still on a high
I rise for a standing ovation
extolling with total elation
Amphetamine of choice helps feed my addiction
my malady fixed with a weekly prescription
