Amish Lament

Amish Lament
Three times my feet were bound.
Three times my heart was broken.
Only once was that man found.
But three lives
he did leave behind him broken and unbound.
Why did any of it have to happen.
Is Life so hard to be so smitten.?
We could all have been like that man.
Just a push in the wrong direction.
Too much money and too much time.
Too much pleasure and fancy wine.
He left some poor girls lives interuppted.
His life could not be worth any of that.
Who can find the good in what has just occured.?
Please tell me what if anything it means.
Some of us aer numb and not even crying yet,
Please cry unto my Jesus.Please.
