Amethyst Drop

bathe in morning mist
she stares at dainty dewdrops
that cling to the sullen twigs
after the first kiss of snow

in reverie she sticks her gaze
on the amethyst dewdrop
that holds her beloved’s sigh
ahhh, if only she could bring back
lost dreams buried in winter’s canopy.
