America's Future
It's no longer good enough
to be American and free.
People now coming to America
imagine riches without loyalty.
It's a "me only" government.
It's a "me only" job.
And the people in power
use their position to rob.
It's a curriculum emphasizing
color difference.
It's a propagandized TV.
And birthplace is more important
than American loyalty.
If the media didn't applaud conflict
profusely across this nation,
perhaps we could listen to the news
instead of the next sexual accusation.
There's no need for more gossip;
there's no need for more fear
if we contribute to our country
with our talents year after year.
Then the country would grow stronger,
and we could live in safety here;
our neighbors might even help us,
if our enemies came near.
We'd fight together then
and eat the same bread;
and we'd worship together
and listen to what was said.
Togetherness is what we need,
being different, but not apart,
for disunity weakens the fiber
of any countries' heart;
until nobody cares
if you live or you die,
until everyone becomes selfish
and nobody knows why.
One day there'll come a leader
who'll use disunity for his good.
He'll re-conquer our America
and reclaim those wild, wild woods.
But we'd never admit
that our country could fall,
for we believed in it,
loved it;
it was our all in all.
