Notes About The Poem

American Soldier

The battles won; the battles lost
                               Our warriors pay a heavy cost
                         fighting for freedom comes with a price.
                           They stand up to make the sacrifice
                                
                          Gallant, brave lives, men, and woman.
                              Who give it their all till the end.
                           Counting the price, they have to pay
                               For freedoms won for us today

                                Leaving behind their families
                              To become a well-trained soldier,
                             Over foreign lands, and over seas
                                  The meek becoming bolder

                              Never leave a fallen comrade
                              They must not be left behind
                              Never give up, pushing through.
                           May Freedom reign for all mankind

                                       Faithful and true 
                              The RED, WHITE, and BLUE
                               Old Glory over battles flew
                                       To all our hero's
                                          I thank you!

I lost a second cousin, he was my dad's cousin in WWII. He did give it all. Thank you Anna, so very much. God bless you!
