America, America
Your actions bring me pain
And to others I have to explain
This love is not in vain
Despite the strain
You make mistakes
And we might take breaks
But hold the brakes
I know the stakes
I see what they can't see
A vibrant future ready to break free
Life is just a glittering sea
And you're an island to me
I accept and embrace your flaws
And treat your inner wounds with gauze
Knowing love is a righteous cause
Despite a breakdown in social laws
The truth is we are one
And though this perilous road is far from fun
Together we can find the sun
And prove we're far from done
America, America we have to be strong
And show the world we truly belong
Even if at times we've been wrong
This is our unifying song
