Amargura

Cordoba doesn't come to terms.
This is a town still Arabic,
savage, suffocating,
its sluggish river absorbing
the cruel heat, not dispelling it.
All is light or shade.
No middle way.
No compromise.

The women of Cordoba
are dark and hard to know.
With the eyes of the doe,
and just as shy,
they go to the orchard
when the soil is dry
and find succulence.

Naranjas cordobesas
are semi-wild,
with a tang severe,
uncompromising.
This is a land
where bland is unknown.
Cordoba.
Far off, and alone.

Oh man.... Ahlan... I am Egyptian. I also happen to know Al-Andalus, I've been to Cordoba, Sevilla, and whatnot. Naranja trees in early spring, when the heat is still bearable. I love Cordoba

This is uncanny. Such a good guy, so cool and switched-on ... and you know Cordoba, Seville and all my places! Unreal!

You do??? Ohhhh that's amazing. Cordoba has these small narrow streets I love so much that protect you from the sun. An then the flamenco.... I used to live with my grandfather. He dragged me through Europe. I've lived in Southern France for a year, in a few Andalusian spots and in Norway haha. Oh and I forgot to mention Granada and Zaragosa of course.
