Am I There

I watch you sleeping
Wonder where you are
Near me
Far away
Am I there
In your dreams
When your eyes skitter
Searching
Do you find me
Is it me you’re smiling at
My lips upon your lips
When they purse to kiss
My hand in yours
When your fingers curl
Do you love me
There
In your shape-shift world
Am I me
Or a silk-skinned Delilah
Promising pleasure with vertigo eyes
Is it us laughing
When you laugh
Are we crying
When your face droops with sadness
Do we intertwine like wingless swans
If the ground shimmers into stars
Am I there
In your dreams
I wonder
