Am I a Victim - Questioning Fate

What am I a victim  of?
I beg the circumstance 
Of  quest  or folly  
I need the answer  so 
I query
Am I truly a victim of my
Own conquest? Request  no
Protest   am I a victim at all?
To small to recall  an  account  
Of the  resplendent 
Surely  some toxic tonic has
Bedazzled  me 
Can I face this  fate alone?
Shall  I climb  to this quest
On my own?
