Always First

To be first, that’s the key. I should be first, mom and dad were first before I was born. I enjoy firsts. First in the door, front seat in the car, my first kiss, my first love, my first, and only, A in school. But my parents didn’t care about grades. They didn’t care about my first car, or when I totaled my first car. I loved getting my first hickey, but I got grounded for it, so I left. I got my first apartment, let my first girlfriend moved in, went to my first party, had my first speedball and then went to my First, Last, and Only funeral, My Own.
