always at night

When I was alone,
At the wintry forest lake,
I think at midnight,
In the dark nights of summer,
The cold against warm,
I wished to Aphrodite,
Maybe Venus too,
Someone could be next to me,
Which was really weird,
For I never loved loving,
Maybe for a change?
After one hundred one nights,
Alas, someone came—
You filled up my empty life,
You hugged me so tight,
Yet for once, my mind felt loose,
It unraveled up,
To let in your affection.
My head spun around,
For this was a first for me,
To get so adored,
That I fell both to loving,
And for your warm love.
It's been long since you arrived,
Yet it never fades.
I kept all the gifts you brought,
Pondering on how,
How did I get into this,
Something so caring?
I really shouldn't complain,
I do admire you,
Every starry tender night,
You make it so endearing.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup, aking Kababayan. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
