Alternative Studies

Outside the classroom
Sun and cloud dapple the vale
Thrush rehearses triple phrase

The while overhead
Lark ascends in descant stream
Studies the Elysian scene

Nature is a great teacher and so is poetry. There are many things to learn outside the four walls of the classroom. That's where the real learning starts. Great write and your poem has triggered a new thought in me. Thanks for that Geoffrey. :)

so much learning going on in your poem--outside the classroom! The birds you've mentioned and their observer. And the poor lad of my imagination trapped in a desk looking wistfully out the window wanting a Tom Sawyer adventure in the great outdoors. Enjoyed :)
