Alright
Alright
Alright, enough already!!
I’ve taken all I can
Of these missiles of misfortune
Aimed at me by man,
You’ve targeted my health, my wealth,
My family and my friends.
Methodically destroying
Everything you can.
Poisoning my lowly life
One bombshell at a time.
Stripping me of all support,
No matter how unkind.
I don’t deserve this hounding,
To live each day in fear,
To dread that what tomorrow
I may well have to hear.
Surely after all this time
I must have earned a break,
A chance that from this nightmare
I finally may wake.
If all of this has been a test,
I really hope I’ve passed!
I can’t take much more pounding,
My sanity won’t last!
I creep into my happy place
And shut the world out tight.
Withdrawing from society
And hiding, out of sight.
Gathering each scrap of strength
To get me back on track;
Then enable me to function
And not react, just ACT!!!
