Already Gone

It feels weird,

though perhaps not as much as you might think

to come back & find it

all dusted away.

your life,

your friends & family,

everything you knew

now off in a distant dimension

how are you supposed to react?

perplexed?

euphoric?

lachrymose?

irate?

all (or none) of the above?

it matters not.

what does is attempting to

pick up the broken pieces of

your existence & see if they

still fit.

because if not, you may find

yourself sitting in the back row

of your own funeral long before

your time has come
