Along the Planks of Destiny
In dreadful hours of tatterred spires and bones ,
The same ballroom rhapsody is calling me
Where he and I grasped serendipity as lovesick travelers
Above and around the pewter of an endless sea.
Walking along the deck to breathe the mist of stars
Our twin-like aspirations drew so many familiar sides ,
Where unchained secrets roamed with the floating liner
Above and around charmed flaps of Atlantic’s rides.
Then, a glacier blast tugged my drowsy body in Carpathia
Recalling how he kissed the moon upon my hand,
I heard him shout,” be brave ; we will meet again”;
Above and beyond flotsams of bloodied bags of sand
Glimpses of pounding floors rile, a scene set in darkness
Where howling fingers of voyagers devoured the gloom,
As he raced against the acrid swell of mid-April’s breath
Above and below, an awful sound of ocean's deep tomb
Within the heart of me, I pray he is alive and safe
For what we shared in contours of nights shall always be,
A longing so timeless ; I wait in hope like a stray ocean crest
Above and down, and up the planks of uncertain destiny
