Alone With You

I can hear you sigh
As you rustle the sheets,
Lost in a dream.
Sleep is evading me
So I lay
With you
And look through my window
Not at the obsidian lake
Nor the candlelit roses
But at the luminescent moon
Beautiful in its solitude.

An absolutely beautiful and enchanting poem. This evening sky is often the best solitude on a sleepless night.

Thank you so much! I've always loved the night sky. I have noticed that it often reflects my mood and in that moment, I appeared to be the moon.

Such poetic words. I can relate to this well, I'm often awake as my lovely husband sleeps. The moon and starlight makes the solitude so magical. This certainly deserves a seven Iris

Thank you, I am honored. I often stay up to write and the moon captures my imagination. I write my best poems alone with only the stars to keep me company.
