Alone In My Car
As I wait for my kid to get off the bus
I ponder at how life has crept up on us.
I'm reminded of a comment my Father said to me,
"My mind is young, why can't the rest of me be".
The carefree thoughts, the hearty laughs,
the simple pleasures and unwanted bathes.
Kids think nothing but of themselves,
a treasure in disguise or so, unveils.
What game to play next, what character
to be, A glorious imagination is what I see.
So alone I wait, right here in this car,
and wonder how time has gotten this far.
