Alone But Alive

Let me alone this long winter night,
To battle the storm,
And shoulder my plight.
Alone but alive.

Please don't worry your hearts,
About where I am,
I am here in part.
Alone but alive.

Sometimes thoughts need to be gathered,
Emotions reigned in,
Mind to soul I've staggered.
Alone but alive.

I'm not gone completely,
Not ignoring you,
I'll be back shortly.
Alone but alive.

Alone but alive...

I am not saying what is true.

Not alone am I.

But...

Alive is what I am.

No...

What I am becoming.

As always you amaze me. Your work is brilliant, and always able to paint a picture in my mind. I have come to love reading your poems and always look forward for more. Keep up the work Leander, you never fail to capture my thoughts for a little while. This is a great read, and you are a great writer. Your friend ~Jese

This poem is very well written, Leander. It shows the depth of the struggle that is unmistakable to the reader. Blessings, Donna
