Alone
Another day is gone and night begins to fall.
I sit here all alone it seems no one cares at all.
But nobody truly knows the cross I have to bear.
Or if they do they don't take the time to show me that they care.
There was a time when things like, this would have cut me to the bone.
But that was long ago, before I bonded with alone.
As awful as alone can be, so many people have said.
Alone has been good to me and puts no poisons in my head.
I can always trust alone for it's never in disguise.
Alone would never leave me feeling bad by telling hurtful lies.
Alone let's me think things out and helps me conquer many fears.
And alone has quietly sat with me as I shed a million tears.
Alone has made me realize what is so very plain to see.
That alone I am important because there's only me.
As people come and people go should I ever need a friend.
Alone will be there with me from the beginning to the end.
