Alone

all alone
beside my bedside
cradling my heart close, am i
desperate for happiness
wondering why they're so blind

i am the one who hides behind a
smile
joining in laughter at a joke i don't
find funny
keeping my sadness all locked
away
longing for the day
when the key will be found

the key to my heart
unveiling the truth
vacant stares will the be gone
waking up after a long slumber
finally i'll be free, to be me

'cradling my heart close...' Wow! Talk about visualization! I just saw it clearly. Nice work!
