Alone

Alone ( A poem for the other half of my soul ) Loneliness; I’m sure Is something we all have known The sleeping mask of sorrows heartbreak Lives a dusty vagabond Somewhere on our traveled roads Resting in the ditches Where moonless night eyes Have stumbled upon Lost In such solitude I have dreamed Stood out loud on mountain peaks And called my soul To the sun Searching for love That special someone Her unknown face All my need In her unknown life With mystery wished To the sacred webs That someday would turn Upon the road an unknown bend And see her there At the crossroads Of both our journeys end Back then it never seemed The willing undercurrents of my dreams Would bind upon its destiny And bring me the promise It had so quietly made for me And all my lover In perfect view Found in the ghostly ties Of me To you And now; loneliness Seems such a farce Something that lay beneath The foot trips on broken rocks A mere shadows confusion Of unfocused emotion My loneliness An un-truth Diaphanous Evaporates to meaningless She is the sanctuary The only place I long to be She is my silence And my echoing cry Called from those dreaming mountain peaks My saving angel My redemption Eternity has built for me In the embraces of her arms All that I could ever be She is my home And having found This finality of love I understand now How life can feel so empty I know now what it means to be Alone

You will find her. Believe and never lose hope. This is makes my heart ache deeply. Your gift, your expression is simply overwhelming, as you are able to touch the reader's heart and soul like no none. Love, Shar

I am wordless ... the sensitivity, the gallantry, the compassion, the flow of the rhythm into the imagery ... your genius shine here, and inspiration took you to the highest level, colin. You did it again. Love it!

The feeling of loneliness is so masterfully captured, Colin. When my late husband died, I found out "what it means to be alone." Still, we face the challenge of rebuilding our lives. I loved this poem!
