I am a licensed hypnotist, and being hypnotised is not being out of control, it is being in a dreamlike state, where you are aware yet, your inhibitions are not holding you back. However, they will not let you do anything your ethical self would not do in your regular state of awareness. The most open minded people can be quickly hypnotised. People who are highly opinioned, stubborn, and people who are using mind altering drugs cannot be hypnotised at all. I learned this the hard way when I was an intern.
She was not fully hypnotized; she knew that.
However, she was in a delicate dream state
That made her feel more complete than she had before…
She ran frantically to the first door.
It was locked up tightly; would not budge.
She banged, screamed and cried, desperate to get in there.
Her therapist touched her gently.
Said something to try and calm her.
She turned and saw another door, began running wildly.
She knew that she was not hypnotized because she did not believe in it.
However, she desperately wanted to open that door
Knowing a lost piece of herself was inside, waiting.
