Allure of the Sea

The Sea summons sailors, sending waves
lapping at curiosity's shores.
Offering a world with no locked doors;
She harbors treasures and salty graves.
And though oft as gentle as the breeze
rippling across Her watery face.
This lady of adventure and grace;
is known to be a fair-weather tease.
She is easily riled by the wind;
yet reflects the moon like a mirror.
And brings opportunities nearer;
upon which landlubber hopes are pinned.
She shifts colors from aquamarine
to turquoise, chartreuse, and indigo.
And is filled with wonderment and woe;
not hell or heaven, but in-between.
Many feel the allure of the Sea;
as She tugs upon their hearts and souls.
For from Her depths to shallowest shoals;
She exerts Her sensuality.
