Enclosed Rhyme
One or more verses with a rhyme scheme of "abba" (that is, where the first and fourth lines and the second and third lines rhyme).
The Sea summons sailors, sending waves
lapping at curiosity's shores.
And offers a world without locked doors,
safekeeping treasures and salty graves.
And though oft as gentle as the breeze
rippling across Her watery face.
This lady of adventure and grace,
is known to be a fair-weather tease.
On calm nights when not riled by the wind;
She reflects the moon like a mirror.
And brings a canvas of stars nearer,
upon which a lover's hopes get pinned.
She shifts colors from aquamarine
to turquoise, chartreuse, and indigo.
And unleashes wonderment and woe,
not hell or heaven, but in-between.
Many feel the allure of the Sea
as She tugs upon their hearts and souls.
For, from Her depths to Her shallow shoals,
She exerts a sensuality.
