allow me the strength to let go of your memory... allow me the peace of once knowing your love... to relinquish my soul and grant me serenity... to attain the comfort of a tranquil being... allow the ripples of a once stormy wake... to become still... and shine soley on the future. allow me... to love... to live... to laugh... to breathe... allow me.

thanks so much for what you said to me here. I would not have seen it (since I turn off notifications for comments, etc) but I came back here to recall the last poem I read and I saw this reply to my comment. Yes, our poems are our "children", dear, and we look back fondly at them even with flaws.

...i always remember my frame of mind with the oldies and though some make me cringe at how unskillfully I crafted them, there is fondness for the words. A map of where I was and greater understanding for who I became.
