All the Leaves Fell

A flame, an inferno of rage.

It dwindles, fades.

You will remember, but maybe not.

But you felt it once. That

Anger! Powerful and destructive.

A villain, wielding a sword.

Tearing through your chest, you heart.

But it will heal. That

Guilt was ignorant.

It could never understand.

He changed you, but maybe not.

He wanted to. That

Pain! You weren't enough.

She was more. She was pretty.

But cold, cruel as winter.

You were autumn.

All the leaves fell. Dead.

Well I guess then she was spring or at least summer. My ex got the spring he wanted and she cleaned him out of everything he had and I couldn't have been happier. Without knowing it she ended up being my sword. I moved on and he is still trying to stand up. Super poem well said and written. TLee

So sad, but Spring will come, followed by summer sunshine. Touched a nerve. Thanks
