All That She Wanted

Feeling alone in this world
Her head dropped into her hands
The tears began to fall
Feeling hopeless, she didn't understand

So much love in her heart
She wanted to share
Nobody's calling
Nobody's visiting
Nobody cares

Just once in her life
She wanted just one person to reach out
Offer an invitation
Let her know they were proud

She didn't wish to be famous
Her soul much to shy
She didn't want riches
At least not the kind that money buys

Just one simple I love you
I want you to know I am here
You're a really great person
Words of compassion, words that mend a soul
