All My Wishes Were Sent Back To Me

A loved one found their parent close to death on the floor. These experiences can seriously affect young minds. Everyone deserves love and happiness. But not everyone embraces the gifts they're given. Suicide is not the answer. Even if we think it's a cure. Please choose life. You deserve a chance to thrive. Blessings. All my wishes were sent back to me By Michelle Morris 23/04/2023 He found you Dying on the floor All those pills you took Almost stopped your heart Multiple suicide attempts Over your lifetime We couldn't help you We could only try But trying only Goes so far And life is so short For each of us I could wish To make you happy And know that wishes Could be real But the truth about A lifetime of tragedy Is that the choices we make Define us so often When we don't seize Happiness with jubilation When we don't allow Ourselves to live It took years For you to die You stumbled Through each one Always a step Out of sync With the life You were meant to have Between the pills And the booze The haze And mental illness Your voice was silent You chose hopelessness Instead of living You chose death All my wishes Were sent back to me Because you Could not accept them © Michelle Morris, 2023
