All Mothers Cry

Cyberspace was full of visitors the TV droned through the room. The sun streamed in the windows the day was full of doom. From the corner of my eye and the surface of my mind Sci-fi showed action scenes of the catastrophic kind. Reporters shrieked a breaking story the picture screen showed flames my mind saw Cong or Mighty Joe swatting down two planes. Fearful voices filled my home cyberspace stood still the dogs of war had set their sites twin towers marked their kills. Over 20 million have died all mothers, daughters, fathers, sons; American interventions causing everyone. All were collateral damage so the story goes and the military minds still orchestrate the show. The chickens came home to roost on that fateful fall day our mothers, daughters, fathers, sons with precious life did pay. If only, if only, ALL would realize; DEATH HAS NO BORDERS ALL MOTHERS CRY………….

Sorry to all Father's ...Mother is used often as a universal metaphor for "caretaker" of course all of us have family and friends who cry when we pass and miss us dreadfully! Light & Love

As sad as it is , fathers weep just as deep when it comes to losing a child. There are no winners in war and what some call victory never lasts. God bless, a beautiful write. Ron

Yes, not only mothers but an entire nation wept on this dreadful day. Powerful poem with creative images of Kong and Mighty Joe. Very moving! Love, Carolyn

not a popular opinion! for sure!... but I agree entirely!..... I recall, sadly, our Country's bloodlust at watching the nightly news proclaim the righteousness of "SHOCK AND AWE" as we bombed Baghdad! all I thought of was, if you were shock n' awe 'n my family....I would take up arms and make you pay, brother.... well written Deb! I call it 'freedom of expression'!!!!!..... jim
