All In Fun

To you it's all a joke.
The words are hysterical as they strike your ear.
Do you not see the hurt they cause?
Can't you see the pain welling up inside?
Perhaps it's that you just don't care.
Once you swore you'd never hurt me,
You pledged you would never cause me pain.
Was it said in fear of rejection
Or have you forgotten your promise?
You say you're only kidding,
I'm being a baby,
Much too sensitive about the way you play.
What you mean I cannot hear,
Only the words that are spoken.
My heart has drown in a sea of tears.
I dare not cry.
I cannot,
When I weep, you celebrate.
Do you ever stop to think I take it all to heart?
Do you care at all how it makes me feel?
Maybe the truth be told, you want me to believe:
I am nothing.
