All In Due Time

A step or two slower Expectations lower You don't fit in so well Withdrawn in your shell Your colleagues look younger You don't have their hunger More frequent, your blunders Boss smiles; they don't stun her You miss work 'cos you're sick And don't get better so quick When you return, you're not well Your commute can be hell Whispers about you abound Your thoughts whirl around Yet maybe they're wrong Why's the day seem so long? Now the company's been sold Will they get rid of the old Those past their prime ~ All in due time, friend All in due time

Both "quit while you're ahead" and "**** 'em if they can't take a joke" come to mind ;) xomo <3

Always good advice, my dear. And, just curious: Was the word that got censored in your comment 'muff?' If so, understandable! It's a horrible word, of course. (See my poem, 'Little Warren Buffet,' for an ill-advised usage of that pejorative). :) gw
