All In a Day
I waited all year for cotton candy day,
and my excitement had been growing;
oh, now the carnival fair was here,
with the rides and games and shows.
~ And those special smells. ~
We lived close to the fair grounds.
and walked, although I skipped along;
I could hear the high shrills and noise,
and I was beside myself with glee.
~ This is a happy memory. ~
We entered the gates with tickets,
and followed the crowds past tents;
sometimes, Mom stopped to look,
but, I pulled her arm, "lets go."
~The cotton candy was lovely. ~
Mom wanted me to go on rides,
but I was content to sit on the grass;
and eat my huge pink cotton candy.
a news photographer snapped my picture.
~ The caption read, "tot enjoys fair." ~
All day we wandered the fair grounds,
playing bingo- I loved the Merry-Go-Round;
Mom loved the Swings, we were so tired,
but, I convinced Mom that I needed or die.
~ A cotton candy to take home. ~
