All Horses Run

Why not all the horses
finish always first
because
who is first
is nobody's sec...
then there is the second
who tries
and not win
then the third.
the forth
obviously the fifth
then the one that fell
and broke his leg
and ended up
with a hot bullet
to remind the rest
that who fail
goes straight down
with no name
and prayers
no tears
funerals
quiet
in silence
and in cold disgrace...

There is still a race
we the humans run
try for years
and years
to be first
or none
to win everything
or nothing at all.
and when the last day
comes and we fail
and for us
the same
comes the very end
ending in a grave
tired,
in regret
just like this poor horse
with a broken leg...

When the race was over
for ladies and gents
some going to heaven
some others to hell
just a little boy
went to horse's grave
and wrote in a letter
"You are my hero
Sugar Pretty Boy"
a single red rose
and a tear
across...

Excellent poem. I think it's all worth it if we try our best.
