All Grown Up

The rusty earth,
boring beneath
his boyish knees.
He wondered, how long
it would take to grow
manly legs.
Legs, he could escape
his childhood dread.

Sipping wine she glances
at his manly knees.
He wonders, what she’s
thinking; on his
manly legs?
Legs, he could escape
with; lest something
more is said!

Smile ~ This poem makes myself smile for some reason and, for some other reasons; I have thinking a lot about about a beautiful soul I used to know not that long ago; a very wonderful man named John Knight whom, I truly loved ~ "Nice Poem My Friend" ~ "Much Love Always to You & Your Loves," John!:) ~

Your emotions are showing David .. going back to boyhood ... rising to manhood... escaping to another time and place to forget hurt or remain safe from it.. but ..its all part of growth.. don't worry about what anyone says ... just be U my friend... that is who u want to fall in luv with..

Why does he need to run away?Isn't he happy where he is?with who he is?or who he was?Maybe he can stay and see the beauty She can see in him,Maybe just maybe those childhood dreads are what made him strong,to be the man he is today. .I don't know if i got it,but thats how this poem touched me..I enjoy your work Dave :) C.C.
