Alcoholism In Five Easy Lines

Alcoholism is a family disease, my friend.
But, the onus, sadly, falls on the drinker!
Cocktails make him a big man, while we sit, righteously by.
Denial by family and friends, the hallmark of this disease.
Ending up dead or with avwet brain or may gets sober!

It is such a sad disease, misunderstood by everyone, sometimes especially the family that has the predisposition for it.

Yes, They especially do not understand the devastating effects on ALL of them. The family thinks they are better than the drinker. They are not. It causes scars on all. Thus AA has a program for Adult Children of Alcoholics. It is a family disease. And Ala-teen and Alanon for friends of imbibers. Panagiota

Hi Wiiliam! This simple poem, humbly, is a summation of the the fatal disease carried by millions. Few recover totally. ..It can be done, however. There is no cure but total abstinence. Panagiota
