Ahmed Hopes
Sound of bullets are part of daily life
Feel so upset for Ahmed and his wife
Both are fifty and live in Baghdad, Iraq
Their home is considered a derelict shack
Ahmed hopes one day that peace will arrive
Takes shelter daily just to live and survive
Never in his life has he seen peace before
Always seen conflict always seen war
Prayers to this couple this poet sends
I send much love too for these dear friends
Keep safe keep well and keep together
Look forward soon to brighter weather
