Ah----But That Was Then

          Missing all my freedoms.
Winter skies so gray and joyless.
Each day the master cracks his whip.
Tears roll down my cheeks, and I bite my lip.

Love and care is a place to come from.
          Not bullheadedness and arrogance.
So, I stay at home and live on in past
          freedom's gentle, loving buoyance.

The best leaders all had big hearts.
Not led by Mc Carthy like witch hunts.
But were builders not destroyers of men.
Ah, my frienda, but that was then.....

I think we all are missing our freedoms, our liberty, and some our sanity. But that was then - nicely penned Pangie. :) Linda

Hi again, Linda! I appreciate your kind evaluation. As a liberty lover, these times are almost unbearable. Add the lying going on...golly, makes it painful for me. I wish I just believed all the nonsense, but my background in science, philosophy and transformation, forces me to ask, not blindly accept anything from anyone. Merci, Pangie

We don't need Nazi tactics to tell us how to live. We always had respect for diverse opinion. Not anymore, tbe adults I know are working or retired and raised truly fine families. I don't know any crazy adults, personally, I do know they are out there..demanding the takeover of the USA. Making DC a military zone, really? Meanwhile, in the hood, nobody cares about the deaths of innocents? And a violent group is up for the Nobel Prize? Thank you, Pangie

I think you do know the answer.))) We think happiness and peace come from the government. Worse, we forgot who does control the world. Humility is out the window. Arrogance and no freedom are de rigeur, Pangie.

We remember them well.))) I used to live near a Veterans Hall in Chicago..those back from the wars sat there sporting hats. Parades were common on my street. Dad had the Mayor of Chicago and others over in our gigantic yard. We had a huge flag and a victory garden in the shape of a "V" in a gigantic planter painted red, white and blue. Contrast that to todays flag burnings by miscreants! We were blessed,Bob Merci~ Pangie
