Ah, Those Golden Years

How fitting is the title

of that time of life named Golden.

To surgeries or drugs

those years are often most beholden.

Yes they certainly took the curtain away, and all hell let loose, common sense and simplicity destroyed, because those were the tools, to a way of living. Great poem Andrea, love the ironic slant. Harry

i often ask standing in line at the pharmacy....anyone remembers in elementary school them telling us this would be the future in those Golden years, and silence wanders over faces wrinkled and billowing grayhair....and nary an answer appears in the Golden silence...loved it Andrea

Boy isn’t that the truth! The golden years seem to be brass that turns dark as it tarnishes. Excellent epigram Andrea. xxoo

Andrea, they were unquestionably the finest years of life, but they have been tainted by the passage of time.

They were certainly golden years Andrea, sadly they've become tarnished over time. Tom

I recall a series called the Golden Girls. Saw many episodes but somehow I prefer detective and adventure. I see so many of them like The Mentalist and some ghost stories. Just a question f taste. Hugs.

Too true - with you all the way my friend - can't beat those golden years, 'the golden girls showed us'. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer
