Aging Ungracefully

Crappy, crepey skin
What a shape I'm in
Is it inherited though
Watch out daughters for
The warning signs or
It will slip up on you so

Fast as speeding car
Superman by far
Get on it keep it at bay
Whom am I kidding
There is no ridding
Age comes and steals youth away

And good 'ol arthritis has a field day on a lot of us too. My knees creak the an old house's front door, lol! I know another elderly person who had knee replacement surgery a few years ago and she told me it hasn't helped much. Excellent penning with a humorous flair on the aging process, Sara. Hope your Yuletide is bright and festive.

Regina, my husband had knee replacement surgery and it took it a long time to heal, etc. but he is fine with it now plus he has had both hips replaced. Some people feel it is the best thing after it gets healed completely because the pain is gone. Thank you for dropping by and I hope this holiday season is awesome one for you. Sara K

Paula, yes, age is just a number. Some people seem to not age as fast or as bad as others. I hope you are one that doesn't age as fast or as bad. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Hi Sara, I know all of us want to be slim and trim, but others are overweight, they don't age so quickly in looks, health is another thing though, as they carry more weight and that is duly paid for also. We can't win! Hugs and blessings, Jenny.

Well, Jennifer, I have noticed that sometimes those that try to stay on a lower fat diet that their skin seems to age faster for some reason. I have never tried to stay slim, but my weight has been up and down which is not good for a person either. Thanks for the kind review of my work. Sara K

Enjoyed this highly humorous poem. With age, the changes in skin cannot be prevented. Genetic factors contribute to a great extent. Whatever it is, wrinkles , however can't be prevented. As long as you have a youthful mind, don't worry about aging, dear Sara. This poem is testimony to your young mind.

Zyrool, well there is something that will help the age spots, so they say but I don't think there is for the crepey skin except to have cosmetic surgery which is too dangerous. Thanks for stopping by . Sara K
