Agendaless Exuberance
Walking all alone as the day digressed
an azure sky so blue captured my sight
and took with mystic awe my wanton breath
expiring praise for God with all my might.
Ne’er had my heart seen such clear blue so bright.
Joy gushed forth from me with an inner zeal.
My outer ode to God I did reveal
with language that was freely from the soul,
true words to God not phony but real.
A moment caught more cherished than fine gold.
Just when I thought the world was fit and well
and I had seen the grandness of it all,
the breeze within the trees begin to swell
and symphonies of leaves commenced to fall,
looking like an autumn-colored snow squall.
Again, my heart delighted in the show.
Dried leaves caressed my ankles, soles, toes
and sang a song of winter as they crunched.
What a place of lovely there is to know!
Most folks around don’t even have a hunch.
